These shows will aslo see the return of the famous Douglas Kay Band homemade jam. This year the jam, made by Douglas, will be given away free with any purchase of a CD, t-shirt or USB album at the gigs. There are seven different pots to collect, as each pot features a different member of the band including guest members. This year the pots feature sax player Chris Smallwood, and occasional guest vocalists Paul Gilbody, Martin Philip and Alan Davison in addition to Hugh, Alex and Douglas.

The Merchandise pages of this website are now be stocking Douglas Kay Band t-shirts. The t-shirts come in a variety of designs, colours and sizes and we have both Men's and Ladies' fit t-shirts. Check them out using the tab above or by clicking here.

Of course all the Douglas Kay / Douglas Kay Band CDs - and the USB edition of Into Your Head - are still on sale there too.

Album Launch
The band completed a trio of gigs which launched the new album, Into Your Head in early December. The official launch party at Edinburgh's Voodoo Rooms on 20th November saw the band perform to a sell-out crowd after sets by special guests United Wire and Paul Gilbody. Also performing were writers Martin Philip - who read an extract from his novel Groove - and Grant Gillies, who read his short story The Hard Way and the Right Way are Usually the Same Way.

The DKB set featured a number of guest musicians, including saxophonist Chris Smallwood who was making a second appearance with the band having joined them on satge in London earlier this year.

On Saturday 21st November the band headlined the final Fondoo music night at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles. Another sell-out crowd enjoyed a set which in a sense bookended Fondoo, Douglas Kay Band having been the headline act at the very first of the monthly nights back in January 2008.

The last of the three gigs was something of a homecoming for the band as the guys returned to Acoustic Edinburgh on 1st December, a superb night which has played host to DKB many times.

Some video footage from the gigs can be seen on the Audio & Video page.
